The Workhorse ladle is a heavy-duty ladle of rugged construction, designed for continuous and trouble free service over long periods.

Available in a standard range of sizes; up to and including 40,000Kg capacity (C.I) or made to suit your specific requirements.

The Workhorse ladle design forms the basis for a number of heavy-duty ladle applications including: Transfer & Casting ladles, ductile Iron treatment ladles and bottom pouring Ladles.

The ladle shell is sized to take into account modern refractory practices and has an increased lining allowance so that a castable refractory lining can be fitted without compromising the ladle's rated capacity.

The shell is a fully welded construction, with reinforcing straps at the top and bottom, and is fitted with an air vented centreband, which helps to reduce heat-transference to the gearing.

The ladle is fitted with bolt-on trunnions that allow the lifting assembly and gearing to be removed far more easily and quickly than a conventional ladle design. This can assist with the lining operation and also means that the trunnions can be replaced without the need to return the ladle to the factory.

Motorised gear options are also available.

All ladles are tested to 150% of the calculated gross mass and are supplied with a test certificate
